Chapter 4 Excerpt - Khyber Pass
“Troy decided we needed a big joint to calm our nerves and after the bus got moving he lit it up. There was a lot of smoke in the cabin so the conductor tried to get us to stop. No one was taking any notice. Some of the other hippie passengers also got the urge to stoke up, and before long there were joints being passed everywhere. The conductor was freaking and opening windows to get fresh air. But the driver didn’t flinch, he was focused and taking deep breaths whenever he could. “
Chapter 5 Excerpt - Kabul
“One night they had a big session and the smoke from continuous chillums filled the room, drifted into the corridors and billowed out into the street. The hotel manager came bashing on the door. He’d been tipped off the cops were on their way. The boys freaked out and started looking for places to hide their stash. One of them pulled the veranda pot plant out, put his stash below the soil and put the plant back on top. Hugo had his roughly sown into a green satin jacket that was hanging on the back of the door. One of the other guys hid his under the mattress while the last of them freaked out and threw his kilo on the fire where it smouldered and made the room a total stoner fog trap.”
